Born in Macau. Eric is good at drawing with technical pen to depict fine details on archaistic paper. His renowned works of ancient style map incorporates with contemporary elements, start from the history of the age of discovery, probing on the cities changes caused by urban development and discussing on post-colonial phenomena. From his early creation of archaistic map to current creation of chronicle and scenery drawing, Eric uses his technical pens to record down the big era.
Eric’s works have been awarded “Art Award” by Oriental Foundation (Macau Delegation, 2013), his works were selected in "Illustration Exhibition -Bologna Children's Book Fair" (2013), Sovereign Asian Art Prize (2019) and “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2021 - Selected Works by Local Artists”(2021). Solo exhibitions were held in multiple
countries, including Oriente Hotel – Eric Fok Solo Exhibition (Touch Gallery, HK, 2021), Before Departure – Works by Eric Fok(AFA Macau, 2021), Is Spring After Fall (Helios Gallery, Taipei , 2020), Notes on the Future (Karin Weber Gallery, HK, 2019), Erik Fok Paraíso (Arte Periférica, Lisbon, 2014), etc.. He has also participated in exhibitions and Art Fairs in the US, Italy, UK, Portugal, Spain, Japan, Korea, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, etc.
Participated in art & design projects include: the installation on the zone of St. Paul's Ruins for the "Parade through Macao, Latin City" by the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau; the promotional image design for the "Sixth Macau Literary Festival-Immortality", commission works for Starbucks Reserve (Macau) ) published a personal collection "Paradise: When Antique Maps Meets Modern City", etc.
His works are collected by The Orient Museum (Portugal), University of Hong Kong: University Museum and Art Gallery, the Macao Government Headquarters, Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macau S.A.R. , Oriental Foundation (Macao) , Starbucks, Macau Galaxy Entertainment Group, Macau MGM Cotai and individuals in Italy, Las Vegas (U.S.A.), United Kingdom, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macao.
Regarding his series, 'Back to Paradise - the empire on which the sun never sets', Fok said, “The Great Voyage changed the world, some beings travel from their origins to find a real paradise for them and this is the story of their journey under the sun.”
